Marketing, copy & transcreation

A text that gets things sold

Marketing is all about reaching out and striking a note with the recipient. Quite often, a fair amount of resources are spent on producing sales content with exactly the right style and tone of voice in the original language. Naturally, the same care must be put into the translation in order to achieve the same effect in other markets. To the recipient, the experience of reading the translation should be that of reading an original text. This applies to professional translation of most types of text, but is particularly important when it comes to marketing and sales content. I will find the right words so that your text will have a natural flow, speak to the reader and fulfil its intended purpose – so that you can reach your target audience.

What is transcreation?

Transcreation means going a step further away from what we call the source text – the original text – and actually creating a text from scratch based on the content of the original text. This is often needed, for instance, when there are major differences between the source language culture and the target language culture. There is a bit of a blurry line between what would be called transcreation and what is simply a more creative translation, but generally speaking, transcreation means that the original text will undergo a more extensive adaptation. Please feel free to get in touch and we’ll discuss what will be the most suitable approach for your text.
